A fire service diving team has recovered the body of a teenager named Sujit Das (13), who was swept away by strong flood currents in Koiyarbil Union of Chakaria Upazila.
The body was recovered from a place adjacent to the Matamuhuri River in Jaldaspara area of Koiyarbil Union of the upazila at around 3 pm on Sunday (July 12).
The deceased, Sujit Das, is the son of Tufan Das of the same area.
According to local sources, due to continuous heavy rains and flooding caused by landslides, water was flowing in a strong stream over the road in the Jaldaspara area of Kairbil towards the Matamuhuri River.
Sujit Das was returning home along the road with two others on Saturday afternoon around 3 pm when he suddenly slipped and fell into the water and was swept away by the strong current.
